Among other things, Design & Technology GCSE provides an introduction to IT, systems and control and industrial applications, together with specific knowledge and project work applicable to the subject area as required by the National Curriculum such as understanding materials and processes, drawing skills, methods of construction, modelling, and the use of CAD/CAM.

Some students study Product Design with Business Studies and ICT, however a large number of students study Physics, Chemistry and Maths which will lead onto engineering courses.

Last year 80% of Product Design students left college to continue in education to study Art & Design Foundation courses or BA and BSc Degrees at University.
