The biggest mistake that we tend to make when finding solutions for our problems is to think about the same old solutions.
However, if those old solutions worked, the problem would not still be around.
There may be one obvious solution, or some might work in combination. If your situation is interfering with your day-to-day life, it’s a good idea to get some professional help.
Look at your list of options, and pick out the ones that are most practical and helpful. Have faith in yourself and make the commitment to try out one of your solutions. If you’re experiencing a lot of negative feelings because of your issue, it’s important to look after yourself. You might also find it helpful to talk to someone you trust who can give you moral support.
Focus on what you can do, instead of the things that are out of your control, and feel satisfied that you’ve done the best you can.
Go through the options you’ve got left and for each one write a list of their pros and cons.
For the most part, we are able to quickly solve them without much trouble.
We either come up with a quick solution or use a strategy that worked in the past.
The costs of this solution seem to outweigh the benefits.
REMEMBER: There is no perfect solution, so when you are judging each potential solution it is unlikely that it will meet all four criteria.
