Thanks to an internship, he developed his master thesis at IMEC (Belgium).
For more than two years he has worked as researcher in the Signal department of the Univesity of Vigo (Spain) implementing different architectures for Dv B receivers on an FPGA.
I also apply instantaneous frequency measurement mapping microwave frequency measured to time instant of signal, which in turn is related to spatial location as established by the dispersive Fourier transformation relation.
The experimental methods applied throughout this thesis is based upon Michelson interferometer architecture.
He has a Masters degree in Electronics from the VUB Brussels and a Ph D in Applied Sciences : Scalable Run-Time Reconfigurable Computing Systems also at the VUB. D student at Eh B - VUB (Belgium) under the supervision of Abdellah Touhafi.
He currently is a full time professor at the VUB and the leader of the Rapptor Lab. He obtained his degree in Telecommunications at the University of Vigo (Spain), specialized in Electronics and Telematics.
This thesis presents a series of experiments wherein mode locked laser pulses are utilized.
Photonics based microwave/mm-wave generation and detection is explored and employed for applications pertaining to fiber grating sensors and non-contact measurement.

He has been working as a researcher at the Erasmushogeschool Brussel and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
