High scoring students are invited to participate in the AMC 10. The exam is open to students who have not yet completed the eighth grade or are 14.5 years of age or younger on the date of the contest.

The AMC 10 and AMC 12 are both 25-question, 75-minute, multiple choice examinations in high school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills.
The AMC 10 is for students in 10th grade and below, and covers the high school curriculum up to 10th grade.
Students in grade 10 or below and under 17.5 years of age on the day of the contest can take the AMC 10.

Check out our schedule of upcoming classes to find a class that's right for you!The American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) provide middle and high school age students with the opportunity to compete with students across the country.While many middle and high schools offer this opportunity, many do not.The examination provides an opportunity to apply the concepts taught at the junior high level to problems which not only range from easy to difficult but also cover a wide range of applications.Many problems are designed to challenge students and to offer problem solving experiences beyond those provided in most junior high school mathematics classes.As a result, North Central College offers all three of these exams at its Naperville campus.There is no charge for these exams, but advance registration is required.The AMC 12 is a 25 question, 75 minutes multiple choice examination in secondary school mathematics containing problems which can be understood and solved with pre-calculus concepts.Two different versions of the contests are given on two dates, about two weeks apart, in February.Registration will be open soon, and will remain open until all slots are full.Room location and parking information will be emailed to registered students prior to the contest date.
